Often confused with the 911 Carrera, the Porsche 911 was launched at the same time, in August 1973 to replace the 911 T as the entry-level model. Outside, the new 911 marks the break with the first generation. Thus, the absorption bumpers, easily recognizable by their black bellows on the sides, the black “911” logotype on the rear bonnet below the black engine grille and the “Porsche” strip between the rear lights allow easy identification. Only the strapping of the front headlights and chrome door handles recalls the first generation of 911. Internally, however, it is only distinguished by its seats with integrated headrests.
