History & Provenance
Originally delivered in Germany in 1973, it was soon exported to the USA where it had three owners. It later came to Switzerland, where I purchased it from a private collector. I’ve owned it for eight years. Full documentation is available, including the original purchase contract from February 1974 and all service records from previous owners. Thanks to the small “D” noted in the original German title, EU registration is straightforward and legally possible.
Engine & Performance
Currently fitted with a 2.7s engine delivering 175 hp – but it feels far more powerful than the numbers suggest. The engine was partially overhauled in 2020 and includes:
- Hydraulic chain tensioners
- Electronic ignition system
- Danske sports exhaust, new headers
- New fuel distributor
- Bilstein suspension (yellow)
- New ignition wires and battery
- New performance starter
- New air filter box with plop valve
- K&N performance air filter
Emission test values (April 3, 2025):
CO: 3.54 / CO₂: 12.3 / HC: 82
Performs better than many cars with a catalytic converter.
