Purchased directly from the Porsche factory by Hendrick M., a German citizen who relocated to the US with his family shortly after, this 911 was imported to Los Angeles in July 1967 through Long Beach harbor. Preserved in mileage and condition, it remained stored indoors since the mid-1980s when it failed to pass California emissions. The car remained untouched until spring 2012, when the original owner’s son, Hans M., had it painted silver at a local shop. Although the paint job is of excellent driver quality, it falls short of show quality.
Realizing the extensive work needed to restore the car to its former glory, Hans considered trading it in before reaching out to the Porsche dealer called “Vintage Excellence” in California.

Ultimately, he sold it to them, exceeding the trade-in offer. Upon arrival at their shop, the car underwent a thorough inspection. Included with the car are some records, the original tire jack and spare tire, original black/yellow California license plates (as seen in the pictures), a coveted Vasek Polack license plate frame, and, remarkably, the original US customs import paperwork, a treasure for historical collectors. The chassis remains unrestored, reflecting its age and authenticity. Mechanical components are in good condition, ensuring the car’s solidity. The interior, though showing slight patina, remains original and intact. All parts were meticulously cleaned, inspected, and, where necessary, painted. Gaskets were replaced, the engine reassembled to show standards, and carburetors cleaned and rebuilt. The transmission, fuel tank, and brake system underwent comprehensive servicing, ensuring optimal performance. Furthermore, the speedometer was changed from miles to kilometers, as stated in a document, in order to track the mileage.
Returning to the history of the car, it crossed the Atlantic Ocean in 2012 to a Swiss businessman who kept the car for less than two years until the current owner bought the SWB in 2014. Documentation about the transport from Zurich to the former living city called Stuttgart is also available. In 2016, the current owner decided to obtain a classic car report and received a Grade 2- rating with a market value of EUR 158,000 due to the history and authentic condition. Since then, the car has traveled approximately 1,000 miles.
All in all, we can say that this level of detailed history information sets this 911 apart. Its suitable patina makes it enjoyable to drive without worry. While enthusiasts may opt to repaint it in its original Irishgreen for added value, others will appreciate its rarity and enjoy driving it on warm days.
The 911 Coupé is registered and located in Munich. Viewings can be arranged by appointment.
