The car remained in Germany for some years, before being eventually owned by Michael Lederman, of New York, who then sold it to a well-regarded Italian collector, who arranged its exportation to Italy in 1993. As the 911 was acquired in non-running condition, it became an excellent candidate for restoration, and as such, it was modified to competition specification for rallying. In 2015, the car was then purchased by UK BRDC member and well-known Porsche racer Mark Sumpter and then had Jordan Race Team strip and rebuild the car to the latest 2.0L Cup specification. This car was taken back to the bare shell, fitted with a a welded-in roll cage and repainted in Slate Grey. Meticulous attention to detail was then spent on the rebuild, with latest suspension and brake set up all within the current 2.0L Cup regulations. The car is fitted with a Maxted-Page prepared 2.0L Cup race engine and gearbox, recently fully rebuilt and with zero track hours since.
