Porsche 901/911s built in 1964 are known to have many identifiable differences in pre-production parts when compared to 1965 or ‘66 model year cars. The 232 Registry Group has worked together over the past few years to create a detailed parts study for 1964 and is sharing this information with this special group of approximately 50 surviving Porsches and their owners. Chassis #300 138 was delivered new through Schultz in Düsseldorf and was originally specified in Signal Red (6407) with black leatherette and Pepita seat inserts. The car remained in Germany for a while before being exported to the USA. According to the history file, it was then registered in California from around 1991. In 2014, #300138 was purchased and imported by a European collector. The car retains its matching original 901/01 engine, which was recently rebuilt and is offered in excellent driving condition. Complete with many unique and special identification features from 1964, this is an opportunity for the serious Porsche collector to acquire a genuine and extremely rare example from the first year of production.
