In 2021, Porsche announced that it would be adding the 718 Cayman GT4 to its vaunted line of RS (RennSport) models. The most uncompromising, track-focused member of the 718 family, it used the high-revving, naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six from the 911 GT3, producing 493 horsepower and paired, like all modern RS models, with Porsche’s dual-clutch transmission (PDK). Its scant 3,120-pound curb weight and extensive chassis and aerodynamic modifications contributed to the new GT4 RS lapping the Nürburgring Nordschleife 23 seconds faster than the GT4 model.
Displaying 1,443 miles on the odometer at the time of cataloging, this GT4 RS Weissach is finished in the stunning deep shade of GT Silver Metallic, a hue created for the epic Carrera GT. Porsche’s bespoke color program offered through Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur is a near “must have” for any modern Porsche and allows clients to choose rare, historical finishes for an added cost. As a coveted Weissach Package-equipped car, it also features a distinctive carbon-fiber weave on the luggage compartment lid, process air intakes, cooling air intakes, airbox cover, exterior mirror upper trims and rear wing, as well as titanium exhaust outlets inspired by the Porsche 935.
Desirable exterior and technical options include Front Axle Lift System, LED Headlights with PDLS+, and Window Triangle Trims in Carbon Fiber. The aggressive appearance of the GT4 RS Weissach is further enhanced by 20-inch forged aluminum wheels finished in Satin Neodyme complemented by optional Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) with classic Yellow calipers. Stepping inside, the interior was selected in Black leather and Race-Tex with contrasting Arctic Grey stitching. The yellow exterior details are continued with seat belts and door-pull loops in Racing Yellow. Other desirable options consist of illuminated carbon fiber door-sill guards, Chrono Package, a BOSE Surround Sound System, Fire Extinguisher, and sun visors and Porsche-crested center storage compartment lid in Race-Tex.
Since delivery, this GT4 RS Weissach has been the recipient of a full XPEL PPF treatment to protect the GT Silver finish and carbon fiber body. Furthermore, the current owner has added Porsche factory-approved upgrades from Manthey Racing that include exquisitely finished carbon fiber front fender louver and rear Gurney flap. The carbon fiber bucket seats feature houndstooth seat inserts and Schroth harnesses mounted to a Dry Carbon Fiber Roll Cage & Harness Bar from Silver Rocket. The GT4 RS has become highly coveted by enthusiasts and is likely to remain as one of the most popular, highest performing Cayman variants ever created especially when specified, like this well-optioned example, with with full PPF treatment and subtle Manthey Racing upgrades.
