The vehicle in detail

European Collectibles did a beautiful restoration on this 1965 356SC Cabriolet. During the restoration, this 356 was completely disassembled to the shell so that every aspect could be properly addressed. All panels were pre-fit along with the bumpers, and soft top to ensure the absolute best result. All the chrome was triple-plated and all of the components were restored or replaced. The undercarriage has been stripped to steel and is fully detailed including the suspension. Recently serviced with fresh oil, oil filter, fuel filter, rebuilt carburetors, and engine tune. Truly a pleasure to drive with plenty of power, smooth shifting transmission and a rebuilt braking system!

Its rich, Bali Blue paint, is complemented by a new black cloth top, factory-tinted windshield, and exterior trim, new Vredestein 165 15 tires are mounted to 15” chrome wheels with Porsche color-crested chrome hubcaps, driver-side mirror, chrome bumper guards, and Porsche SC gold script. The newly upholstered Red Wine interior is spectacular with Red German square weave carpets paired with the blue exterior. The interior features a lockable glove box, ventilation controls, restored VDO gauges, chrome reclining seat brackets, and a Porsche radio delete plate.

Mechanically, it is in excellent condition and is an amazing 356SC to drive. The 1.6-liter 356SC flat-four, air-cooled engine (Type 616/16) produces 107 BHP @ 5200 RPM, and has 90 Ft-Lbs of Torque @ 4200 RPM. Power to the rear wheels passes through a manual 4-speed transmission (Type 741) with a four-wheel disc braking system. The top speed is 125 MPH.

One of the most desirable collector models is the 356 SC Cabriolet, introduced in September of 1963 for the 1964-year model. It was the best-driving 356 built with plenty of horsepower! One of approximately 1,200 SC Cabriolets built. This 356 features all of the subtle improvements and updated details fitted to the 356 over the 15 years of the production run. 1600cc producing 95 horsepower engine with 741 manual 4-speed transmission and four-wheel disc brakes.

Offered with tool kit, jack, registration cards back to the 1974s, various photographs from 1992, owner’s manual, boot cover, and Porsche Kardex, confirming matching driveline. Truly one of the best 356 SC Cabriolets that you will find. Everything has been done and finished in a beautiful correct color combination, and truly a dream to drive! Well sorted since the restoration with no issues.
