Factory delivery on 11/22/1963. About the American history until 2003 there is no documentation. Robert A. Husselbee from Plainfield (Illinois) bought the car on May 22, 2003, and a title was issued to him in Illinois on June 9, 2003. On June 2nd, 2005, we were able to purchase the Porsche and bring it back to its home country of Germany in order to initially exhibit it on our premises for a year. On July 31, 2006, the car was taken over by a friend of mine who is a collector and spent another year in his collection without being moved. In the spring of 2007 the owner decided to register the car and drive it occasionally. On March 20th, 2007 it received the seal of approval from TÜV, on August 8th, 2007 it was registered for traffic in Coburg. The car has been moved occasionally, regularly serviced and maintained.
In 2011, the owner decided to sell the Porsche due to lack of time. He found a lover in Esslingen and was registered there on November 14th, 2011. This gave the Porsche the same treatment as its predecessor, it was regularly moved, serviced and maintained. Due to moving to Berlin and the lack of garages there, this special Porsche is now for sale.
This attractive 356SC was never fully restored. The paintwork was renewed many years ago, but now shows an extremely pleasant patina due to aging. The Porsche has good, original sheet metal. The underbody and load-bearing parts are in good condition and show slight signs of rust in areas of damaged underbody protection. In the area of the upper body, there are some rust blisters in places where the sheet metal overlaps, which, however, have not changed in the 18 years of German history.
The engine and gearbox work well, the car drives well and authentically.
The interior is untouched and original with a clear patina, which makes the overall picture of this vehicle round.
An extremely likeable 356SC.
It is difficult to name the value of a vehicle that one observer declares to be a restoration object because of its aging and signs of use, while other observers describe it as a work of art because of its originality and precisely the signs of use.
We see the value in the middle between a used condition that needs attention and an excellently restored condition: 130,000 euros.
