This 356 A Carrera 1500 GS / GT Reutter Coupe has the characteristics of such a unique and exceptional vehicle. The completely documented history during the ownership time of all five owners since delivery are probably already a rarity. It is one of the few existing examples in which the originally installed engine is still installed ex works – according to the matching birth certificate and Kardex card. In addition, this vehicle stands out significantly, as the body and superstructure are still largely in the original substance. During the painting work in 2005, no significant corrosion-related damage was found and documented with images. This probably unique circumstance has already ensured a rare reference rating in the present extensive report by the renowned Porsche Klassik appraiser "Peter Deuschle" in 2018 and certified the car with a grade of 2+. The car has had the FIVA Pass since 2005, was a participant in the Milla Miglia 2006 and was used by well-known rally drivers at the Boxberg Classic Ralley in 2008 (picture). Therefore, this specimen is still ideally suited for use in historical rallies at the highest level.

The history of this vehicle reads like an exciting novel: On November 14, 1957, the vehicle was delivered to a US pilot in Japan. A short time later, he left Japan by vehicle and returned to his homeland, California. The car remained in his possession for most of its life and was kept very carefully and protected – depending on its condition – for 38 years. In 1995, for reasons of age, the car was handed over by the first owner to none other than Wayne Baker, a prominent racing driver and automobile enthusiast. He took over the car with the so-called "black plate", which is the unmistakable evidence of a vehicle at first hand.

Wayne Baker won the Sebring races in 1983 with his legendary GTO 934. The car was in his care until 2005 and then moved to the Vice President of Motul Oil and also famous classic racing driver Yves Junne. Both already knew each other personally from different races.

Wayne Baker has visited Yves Junnes many times in France and when Wayne raved about his 356 Carrera on one of his stays, Yves was immediately enthusiastic and finally bought the car for his participation in historic rallies. During this time the car was only painted once. Yves drove various rallies, including the Mille Miglia in 2006, together with Stanley Gold.

From 2009 to 2011 the vehicle was part of the extraordinary "Bob Ingram Collection" for rare original and racing vehicles. His famous “Porsche People Collection” of rare vintage Porsche models is located in Durham, North Carolina in a listed building. The Ingram Collection includes 80 Porsche models.

Fortunately, the current owner from Munich was able to purchase the car in 2011 when he met Bob Ingram and they both got along well straight away. Since then, the vehicle has been in one of the most important collections in Germany – the so-called "Greenforest Collection" – which aims to always put together the Porsche history with the most important models from all eras with a unique story or an irretrievable condition. Nevertheless, it is by no means a museum piece, as the vehicle was regularly moved and expertly looked after.

It is the only known specimen that not only has identical numbers, but also that the body is still in its original substance and the history is complete.

The engine and transmission run perfectly and precisely. The car was regularly and expertly moved by each of its owners. The current owner has had the vehicle serviced extensively since 2011 by MasterTech and Walter Reile's Classic Power company in southern Germany. These are probably one of the few points of contact for the special Fuhrmann vertical shaft motors that only a handful of specialist companies worldwide specialize in. At the same time as the vehicle was serviced there, Walter Röhrl's Mille Miglia 356 Carrera was also looked after at Classic Power. Features of the examined vehicle

The vehicle examined was produced as the "356 A Carrera 1500 GS Coupé" model and delivered to Japan in November 1956. At that time, the vehicle was equipped according to US specifications and painted in the color "polyantha red".
According to the documents submitted by the client in this regard, the vehicle was brought to the USA at a time that was not exactly known as part of a move. Overall, the vehicle was owned by the first owner until 1995.
Subsequently, the vehicle was owned by the second owner until 2005, during which time, in particular, wear parts of the engine were replaced.

From 2005 to 2009, the vehicle was then owned by the third owner who, among other things, took part in the 2006 Mille Miglia with the vehicle. In 2005 a
"FIVA identity card" issued. From 2005 to 2006 the vehicle was restored and then painted in the changed color "black".

The vehicle was acquired by the client in 2011 from an exclusive private collection in the USA. The vehicle was in this collection from 2009 to 2011.

The client is therefore the fifth owner of the vehicle. It is also significant for the vehicle that the body of the vehicle in particular was largely retained in its original substance and that no significant corrosion-related damage was found during the restoration.
