VEHICLE HISTORY
This 356C has an extremely extensive documented history. Various receipts and evidence from its life have been preserved, the oldest are from 1978. Previously, this 356C was first delivered to the USA in 1965 and remained there with a total of three owners until 2021. The car spent the longest time in sun-drenched Palm Springs, CA. 75 receipts and documents have been preserved from its first life in the USA, and we have also prepared this extensive service history in a table.
In 2021/2022, this 356C finally underwent an uncompromising full restoration in our company. Since then, this Porsche has only been driven in the best weather, a total of 15,500 km after the restoration.
SCOPE OF RESTORATION IN 2021/2022
In the course of the restoration in 2021/2022, extensive work was carried out on the vehicle. We summarize the following work steps:
- Bodywork in the underbody area
- Sealing the body & painting the underbody with underbody protection
- Stripping the paint from the vehicle and completely repainting it in the original color 6411 Togo Brown
- Assembly of the vehicle using various new parts, such as seals, etc.
- full revision of axle technology
- full engine overhaul
- full overhaul of the gearbox
- revision of vehicle wiring harness
- fuel system renewal
- overhaul of round instruments
- Complete renovation of the interior
- Running in and tuning the vehicle
All work is carefully documented with photos.
ESSENTIAL MODIFICATIONS
In contrast to the standard configuration, the following useful modifications were made to this 356C during the restoration:
- Gearbox revision with adjustment of the gear ratio for better long-distance suitability (lower speed, longer gear ratio in all gears)
- Conversion of the electrical system to 12V
- installation of electronic ignition
- Installation of sports seats / version 356 Speedster made of GRP
- Historical racing belts / lap belts from the 1960s (without ABE)
- Speedster door panels with chrome handles
- Bluetooth stereo system / invisibly placed under the board in the passenger side footwell, modern speakers at the original mounting location in the A-pillars
- Orig. 1960s HEUER stopwatch “Monte Carlo” on glove compartment lid
- Original luggage rack for the hood
- Wider steel rims (original Porsche) for mounting slightly wider tires with better roadholding
- USB-C charging port hidden under dashboard for navigation or smartphone
HANDOVER
This 356C is being sold on behalf of a new TÜV, completed H-approval and a current appraisal for classic car insurance.
