Strong Engine Compression – Ideal to Service and Drive As-Is or Lightly Restore
This exciting “garage find” 356C coupe was originally sold by P.C. Import in Northbrook, IL to a Milwaukee resident. By 1988 the charming 356 was back in Illinois where it would remain under the same ownership for 30 years. Having just been removed from storage the engine compression is strong at 140 PSI on all four cylinders providing an ideal example which will benefit from service to be used as a driver or candidate for light restoration. The white exterior paint was applied decades ago and shows its age throughout while the interior remains highly original including seats and door panels with carpet installed later. The body number “22” is found stamped on the rear deck lid latch and all 5 wheels are date coded 9/66, 4/64, 4/64, 4/64, 12/63. The original Sigla windshield remains intact as does the Sekurit and Sigla side glass. Floors are generally straight forward with previous patches evident and no immediate needs apparent. Although this is a running and driving example we recommend thorough servicing and inspection before road use. To find a numbers matching 356 that was delivered new in Slate Grey with Red interior is exciting to say the least, to find one that is usable as-is and benefiting from long-term ownership at an extremely attractive price is a needle in a haystack.
