The last registration dates back to 1996 in California; the car was last moved there in 1992. Some stall-related damage was the result of non-use over the course of 24 years, until it was revived in 2016. The current owner invested a lot of work and demonstrated a good sense of proportion and a great deal of sensitivity in the restoration. Now the 356 C Reutter Cabriolet is completely roadworthy again. At the owner's request, the car remained in Balingen and was used for trips in the region in the summer. The Porsche drives superbly and with it its very own story!
Only the seats were replaced with identical, authentic synthetic leather seats due to the cracked cover and the top window replaced with a new one. The original seats are still there. In order to preserve the character of the vehicle, all other work was carried out exclusively with repaired original parts. The entire technology is complete and original and corresponds to the condition as ex works. The lacquer layer thickness is between 90 and 140mµ. Approx. 90% of the vehicle is in the first paint, only small repairs have been carried out. The Porsche was in the same hand for 40 years; no other approval is noted in the documentation. The oldest invoice in the documentation for the previous owner from California is dated December 27, 1976.
If you ask the current collector and owner of the 356 C Reutter Cabriolet what it is that captivates him so much about this lived-in, slightly cracked and archaic-looking car, he hesitates for a moment and then answers with joyful certainty: “ It's the search to – beauty that defines this Porsche! "
