1963 Porsche 356 B 2000 GS Carrera
2.0 liter Carrera Cabriolet with 130 PS / 96 kW – German first delivery to Munich – extremely extensively restored
The top model within the Porsche 356 model series has always been the performance-enhanced Carrera version. From 1955 to 1964, only 167 units of the 356 Carrera Cabriolet were built at Porsche (A, B and C models). From March 1955, the Carrera racing engines, which were initially only used in Porsche racing operations, were also available for the production models with road approval. In this top-of-the-range engine, the 1600 cc engine in type T2 developed 105 hp / 77 kW with two overhead camshafts. The 130 hp / 96 kW Carrera version with a 2.0 liter engine was available from October 1960 with the appearance of the 356 B. This exclusive, very expensive convertible was only ordered by a few well-heeled customers during the entire construction period.
