This particular Carrera 2 GS was delivered new in April of 1963 in Italy finished in silver with red interior, the color combination the car retains today. Per its included Kardex, it was originally fitted with engine number 97248 and is now fitted with the correct 2 liter Carrera motor numbered 97115. The car is fitted with an Eberspächer gasoline fired heater. The car’s current owner is an enthusiastic collector who has maintained the car superbly, including an engine rebuild by the legendary Swiss 4-cam specialist Armin Baumann. The car comes with invoices from the current ownership period (since 2014) totaling over 60,000 EUR, as well as ASI documents and original seats. Total number of owners is unknown. The car is currently fitted with reproduction Speedster seats, which provide more lateral support and headroom. Mechanically, the car is extremely well-sorted, starting and running easily and sounding absolutely magnificent. The cosmetic condition is very good, with very nice driver presentation throughout.
