Porsche 356 B from 1963 – Matching Numbers – 80% original condition

I bought this Porsche 356B from the second owner in 2003. At the time, it was in 100% original condition (many photos available), but the seats were so worn that the springs were showing and the carpet was torn. The headliner and carpet would be completely replaced, and the seats only partially refurbished. The rear seats and door panels are still original from 1963. The first owner was a US soldier who bought the car in Holland and then took it to the USA. The car is naturally matching numbers, both mechanically and in the bodywork, and unwelded. His name (Jacox) is engraved on the hubcaps to prevent them from being stolen; in other words, the hubcaps are also from 1963.

The vehicle in detail

When he died, the car was sold to a Swiss man who never did anything to it except drive it. He came back to Switzerland with the Porsche and because he wanted to build a house and start a family, he sold the car. So I became the third owner.

I completely rebuilt the engine with an SC crankshaft, Carillo connecting rods and JE pistons, so the car now has around 90 to 95 hp instead of the original 75. The gearbox was also completely rebuilt and because I drove it in a lot of vintage car rallies, I installed CSP disc brakes at the front. The original drum brakes are still there and will be included. 35,500 km since the engine was restored.

A modern oil filter was also installed with a thermostat that diverted the oil to the two front coolers when the oil was over 80°.

The car is still in original condition, but with a few signs of wear over its 61 years of life. Therefore, we had to repaint the driver's door and the four fenders.

It drives perfectly; new exhaust pipes were installed from the cylinders down to the stainless steel exhaust.

A very rare car with a well-known history in a rare original condition.
