The vehicle in detail

A unique A unique “Karmann hardtop” or “notchback” 356 B model was produced in 1961 and 1962. The 1961 production run (T5) was essentially a cabriolet body with the optional steel cabriolet hardtop welded in place. The 1962 line (T6 production) was a very different design in that the new T6 notchback coupé body did not start life as a cabriolet, but with its own production design. In essence, it had the cabriolet rear end design, the T6 coupé windshield frame and a unique hard top. Both years of these models have taken the name “Karmann notchback”. hardtop” or “notchback” 356 B model was produced in 1961 and 1962. These cars have a very classic and elegant look and were produced only in limited numbers for two years. Fewer than 2300 Notchbacks were produced in total, of those 699 were T6 bodies.

Our car on offer has a known history and is a true California car sold new and always remained in the state with only 5(!) enthusiastic owners in 64 years! The current owner bought the car in March of 2019. Finished in the rare and desirable Oslo blue over a red interior, this car is stunning and one of the “Three Sisters” Notchbacks, that were featured in the 356 Car Alta Magazine in September of 2009.

The numbers matching Normal engine has been rebuilt under current ownership and has very few miles since. The car runs and drives fantastic.
