An incredible rare opportunity to acquire a blank-canvas 356A project. This particular right hand drive 356A 1600 Super Coupe was delivered new in February 1959 by AFN in West London, UK. It was finished in Aquamarine Blue (code 5707) with Red Leatherette and the optional 400mm Steering Wheel.
This 356 was taken off of the road in the mid 1990s and stripped for restoration. The car’s original, matching numbers engine was sent off to Francis Tuthill for full rebuild in 1995 (invoice included) and has never been refitted.
Today, the car is a rolling shell as pictured. Be under no illusions, this car needs a full body restoration before painting and reassembly and not all parts are there. In essence, if it not shown in the photographs, please assume it is not included with the car.
Also included with the car today is the original engine (as abov), 2x gearboxes (neither are matching numbers for the car), a new rear seat tub, a spare original front nose panel and a history folder. Highlights of the car’s history folder include its original UK buff logbook, the Porsche heritage certificate, a current UK V5 and the bill from Francis Tuthill for the engine rebuild.
This Porsche presents the most alluring opportunity – an incredibly rare and desirable right hand drive A 1600 Super that can now be totally tailored to its next owner.
We welcome any inspection of this car at our premises. As with all of our vehicles, we have a digital folder available on request containing more images, walkaround videos, pictures of the underside and scans of the service history. The car can be viewed by appointment at our West London showroom.
