This 1959 Porsche 356A Coupe was imported to Sweden in May 1959 by general agent Scania-Vabis and delivered by the dealer Frode Lund in Malmö. Finished from the factory in Sonderfarbe Orange.

After changing hands some times up until 1978, the car found its current owner beginning a remarkable 45-year ownerhsip. It was subject to an extensive bare-metal refurbishment between 1978 and 1982. The car has competed at Roskilde Ring, Denmark in 1959 and in about 100 historic races in FIA Appendix K Class GTS 5. The car has been modified with Plexiglas windows, a lightweight Carrera GT-style interior, Carrera GT brakes, and an upgraded Super 90 engine producing 110 HP. After its racing career, this 356 underwent a meticulous restoration and are registered for street use. The vehicle in detail

The lightweight Carrera GT-style interior features new tan square weave carpeting and black leatherette upholstery along with Recaro 1328 bucket seats, a removable four-point roll bar and a removable steering wheel. Other accessories include lightweight door panels with leather window straps, four-point safety harnesses, a short shifter, tan rubber floor mats. The handbrake has been relocated between the seats. The car’s true mileage is unknown.

The Super 90 engine, #800821, is rebuilt with Shasta 83.5mm pistons, re-bored cylinders, reground and balanced crankshaft, new crank bearings, new valves and guides, Mirra cut seats, a full-flow oil system with an auxiliary cooler. a small pulley, electric fuel pump, fuel filter, and a single-outlet exhaust in stainless steel.

The 644 4-speed manual gearbox with BBBC ratio gearing has been rebuilt with new synchronizer rings, bearings, and a new clutch.

Stopping power comes from 60mm Carrera GT drum brakes in front and 356B drum brakes in the rear, all with cooling scoops in the backing plates. The braking system includes a dual master cylinder and stainless-steel braided lines.

The chassis also includes a 19mm front sway bar, a 26mm rear torsion bar, adjustable shock absorbers, and refurbished ZF steering gear.  The seller indicates minor oil leaks are coming from the engine and gearbox
