After complete disassembly of the vehicle, the paint was gently removed to the plate. The detailed test showed a rust- and accident-free vehicle, which was then repainted in the original color black 700 and with three layers of clearcoat. The original chrome window and door frames were gently refurbished without losing the shine of more than four decades. A unique combination – black / black with chrome – makes this vehicle a very special eye-catcher.
The entire interior including the sky and carpet of the vehicle has been renewed. The seats were upholstered and re-upholstered in genuine look with genuine leather. The door panels, rear side panels, hat rack and steering wheel were also renewed according to the birth certificate.
The Original Matching Numbers 3 liter boxer engine was put on a test bench and showed excellent values on all cylinders. All hoses were renewed, all injection and ignition parts were replaced by new parts, timing chains replaced and valves adjusted. When ordering, the option M481 was chosen and the vehicle received the more popular 5-speed gearbox. The gearbox was completely disassembled and overhauled, replacing necessary parts such as synchro rings. Due to the nature of the gearbox (material, translation), it can be assumed that this is the original gearbox, the number on the gearbox is no longer visible. In the course of the restoration, the vehicle also received a new Sachs clutch incl. Release bearing. In addition, the heat exchangers were replaced – as well as many other chassis parts, calipers, brake discs and documents. The original 15-inch fox rims have been redesigned and re-anodized and fitted with new tires.
