The most renowned, best-known, and most expensive Porsche tuner, Ruf, presented the first Sports Carrera Ruf (SCR) in 1978. Auto Motor und Sport ran the headline "Porsche's Good Reputation" at the time. The test report published in issue 13/1978 was met with overwhelming acclaim within the scene. The SCR was powered by a six-cylinder SC 3.0 engine. The over 20% increase in performance compared to the standard engine was achieved through modified pistons, cylinders, and the injection system. From a displacement of 3.2 liters, the Ruf SCR generated 217 hp. The SC 3.0 standard engine at the time produced 180 hp. A distinguishing feature of the SCR was its large front spoiler with round air intakes for brake cooling and the integrated oil cooler. The generously dimensioned rear spoiler of the Porsche Turbo, with airflow optimized by Ruf, ensured optimal aerodynamic balance. Another striking feature from the rear was the Ruf exhaust, which featured one tailpipe on the right and one on the left. Only approximately 50 examples of the RUF SCR were built between 1978 and 1983. We are offering you a Porsche 911 Targa RUF SCR on behalf of its owner. The 911 SC Targa, delivered in Lime Green Metallic, was converted into an SCR at Ruf in Pfaffenhausen. The ownership history is fully traceable using the original vehicle registration documents:
1978 to 2005 with the first owner
2009 to 2015 with the 2nd owner
2015 to 2023 again with the first owner
2023 to the present day with the 3rd owner
Earlier workshop invoices and TÜV reports reveal an original mileage of just 81,196 km. Furthermore, in our opinion, the vehicle was never used in winter.
A rare opportunity to acquire such a rare zeitgeist and tuning icon of the late 1970s in the cult color pearl white metallic, with the typical additional headlights and black parts instead of chrome.
