The 997-generation 911, a favorite among collectors, marked a milestone for Porsche by prioritizing the Cabriolet version in its design and engineering process instead of the Coupe. This innovative approach tackled the Cabriolet’s chassis stiffness challenges upfront, resulting in a more rigid structure that also benefited the Coupe. Remarkably, the Cabriolet delivered nearly identical performance to the Coupe despite its slightly increased weight—a testament to the meticulous craftsmanship of Porsche’s Stuttgart engineers, renowned for refining the 911 year after year.
Completed in Stuttgart, Germany in February 2009, this 997.1-generation Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet is presented in desirable “Triple Black” specification in non-metallic Black paint, a Black leather interior, and Cabriolet roof in Black. Naturally, it features Porsche’s iconic flat-six engine with VarioCam, yet it is the upgraded 3.8-liter S specification that produces 385 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. Smartly equipped with the seven-speed PDK, the Porsche Doppelkupplung dual-clutch transmission, it accelerates from zero to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds (two tenths faster than the manual) on the way to a top speed of 186 mph.
Noteworthy additional factory-fitted options include limited slip differential, BOSE High End Sound, Sport Chrono Package Plus, heated front seats with ventilation, illuminated door entry guards in aluminum, dynamic cornering lights, Bluetooth, and wheel caps with colored crests among others. The original window sticker records this S-spec Carrera Cabriolet was first sold via Bert Smith Porsche of St. Petersburg, Florida. It featured servicing at Suncoast until 2011 when it was sold to a series of Georgia owners—the most recent of which has held the car since 2016. Today this Triple Black Carrera, wearing a set of 997.1-generation 911 Turbo wheels, is offered with 44,592 miles, a clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report, and a fresh service along with its original window sticker.
