Model history
The Porsche 928 was supposed to do great things when it was released in 1977. Namely, nothing less than force the legendary 911 into retirement. Now, as history has taught us, the 928, the beacon of hope, is gone again. The 911 is still there. But ultimately, it wasn't because the 928 was a bad car, rather the opposite is the case. The time was (and is) not yet ripe to bury the king. Nevertheless, the 928 was successful, it was offered for almost 20 years, to be precise from 1977 to 1995 in various evolutionary stages.
