Compared to the 232 horsepower of the European versions, the anti-pollution regulations of the American versions required a lowering to 217 hp. But the Speedster’s touring soul does not require stratospheric power, on the contrary, open-air driving is appreciated precisely thanks to the elasticity of the engine, together with the braking system derived from the turbo and the new G50 gearbox, in this case with the limited-slip diff.
The first owner drove about 35,000 miles in 31 years, before selling his beloved Speedster – cared for and maintained with extreme care – to the second and current owner: he is an Italian who lived in the United States and, upon his return to Italy, brought the 911 with him. Too beautiful to leave in Texas!
After having converted with aesthetical Euro specs (with the exception of the third brake light, also available in Europe as option, keeping all the original components), the car was wrapped in the front area to protect the first paint.
In the last 4 years, less than 2000 miles have been driven only when the weather allowed driving with the open top. The interior is excellently preserved as are the hood and the mechanics in general; tires recently replaced and complete on-board equipment.
Needless to say, the car has the original equipment engine and is accompanied by a service book and American carfax. The equipment is completed by the tool bag, the jack, the compressor, the various booklets and even the rare cover to protect the rear plexi window when folded.
This 911 Speedster could be inspected by appointment in Rimini.
