Porsche 986 Boxster S “550 Spyder”
The Porsche 550 Spyder was the very first mid-engined racing car designed by Porsche. Its characteristics were its weight of only 550 kilos, but especially the fantastic roadholding that the concept brought with it. Thanks to these ingredients, it won race after race, such as the 24 hours of Le Mans and the Targa Florio. To celebrate its origins, Porsche came up with a ‘550 Spyder’ again in 2004, after 50 years. A special edition version of the Porsche Boxster, which, due to its low weight and mid-engine, ultimately also has the aspirations of a 550. This version is a truly fantastic version from the time when Porsche Exclusive options were still a rarity.
The colour is specific to this version in GT silver, the colour specially developed for the Carrera GT, also a mid-engined roadster. It makes it very special. Certainly also with the 18 inch Carrera wheels that have a painted rim centre in Sealgrau metallic for this occasion. This looks great with the sports suspension, which also makes it steer tighter…. The tailpipes of the exhaust are also specially designed for the 550 Spyder and the connoisseur will see it immediately. Or from the chrome type designation, for example.
