The first year of the G series body, 1974 was a major turning point in 911 development. A strengthened chassis, impact bumpers and the new short hood look combined with the RS flared fenders, wider wheels and iconic ducktail gave the Carrera a more athletic personality without detracting from the cars famous profile. With the exception of the emissions strict US market, the ROW (rest of world) 2.7 Carrera was fitted with Porsches last mechanical fuel injection engine from the 1973 RS; a 2.7 Flat 6-cylinder with 210bhp. With this race proven engine in the new G body 911 form, the Carrera could achieve 0-60mph in 5.5 seconds.

The mechanically injected 2.7 delivers an outstanding driving experience with a tight feel and strong power, not to mention the 1974-75 model years being the start of the 911 G-Body era.
