EXTERIOR
The timeless 993 is arguably the pinnacle of 911 design, further enhanced in RS Clubsport form by a perfect blend of angles, aerodynamics and aggression. Resplendent in Speed Yellow, the car sits as quite the unique proposition with original paint depth readings around the car and all of its factory fitted panels ensuring formidable provenance. The colour perfectly suits this road going race car, and after 2 days of detailing it positively shines; dead straight down both flanks and oozing with character and colour.
Clubsport specified with the large rear wing and front spoiler, this 3.8 looks every bit the track biased champion.
INTERIOR
This Clubsport cabin space is as close to a Cup car as you will find with total dedication to weight saving, structural intergrity and driver engagement.
The factory fitted Matter cage provides anchorage for the Schroth Harnesses that clamp you to some of the best seats you will find in any performance car – Recaro Pole Positions. The familiar 3 spoke wheel and leather gearknob show only a light patina commensurate with age and mileage whilst this car was fitted from factory with the ultra-rare AC option. Not only does the AC provide some refinement, a factory fitted front footwell mat set offers some insulation with both combining to ensure cruising capability on the road, track and beyond.
Having covered minimal mileage the interior finishing is as you’d expect in excellent condition and still smells as new.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The 3.8 engine found here is an air-cooled masterpiece – the Type M64/20. Fitted with Porsche’s innovative Varioram variable-length intake system, and with an 11.6:1 compression, it produces a very healthy 300 brake horsepower at 6,500 rpm. On board the Flat 6 is an aural assault as it builds through the rev range; perfectly tractable at lower speeds and a delight when on song; naturally aspirated air cooled doesn’t get better.
The 003 Clubsport specification further benefits from the addition of a single, rather than dual – mass flywheel.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The 18 inch split-rim Speedline wheels retain their original factory markings and don’t appear to have been refurbished or renovated. Recently installed Michelin Pilot sport tyres adorn all four corners with excellent tread depth.
Red Brembo calipers present in pristine condition clamped to drilled disc brakes all round.
