Immediately after the legendary 1973 Carrera RS finished production a series of Carrera’s were built for the European market that were equivalent to the M472 optioned 73 RS Touring models.
This rare and desirable Porsche was the G-series Carrera 2.7 MFI (aka Euro Carrera 2.7) which used the same 911/83 RS mechanically fuel injected (MFI) engine that produced 210 bhp.
The major difference between these Carreras and the RS was that they were built with the “G-series” body and interior instead of the earlier long bonnet form. The weight of the G-Series Carrera MFI was also 1075 kg like the 1973 RS Touring cars.
All 1974 Carrera MFI cars either came with a ducktail or tail delete, while 1975 and later Carrera MFI either came with the whale tail or tail delete.
This very early G-Series car was manufactured on 1st December 1973 and supplied to its first owner, Mr Norman Anstis with the following options…

RESTORATION
A documented restoration was carried out under registered ownership of Mr Clerico in 2013. Porsche restorer Mr Tony Outridge whose name is on many invoices carried out the majority of the works with supporting invoices in the file from Tuthill’s, Porsche, North Hollywood Speedo, Roger Bray etc.
The car was fully stripped, the bodyshell soda blasted and restored, the original engine and gearbox stripped and rebuilt, suspension, brakes and steering restored. Oil and fuel system renewed and interior work carried out by Southbound.
Tony Outridge did an excellent job, and on inspection he delivered a good balance of preserving vs making good.
The car has only covered around 6,000 miles since the engine was rebuilt.
Car is featured in June 2014 issue of GTPorsche snd is on the Front cover feature car in the July 2024 issue of Classic Porsche magazine.
