With the Porsche 911 Carrera T, a 911 version that is limited to the essentials is coming onto the market in 2018. More was made from less: less technology, less equipment, more driving fun. However, with a turbo instead of a naturally aspirated engine. With the abbreviation “T”, which stands for “Touring”, Porsche is also reflecting on its tradition. The improved driving performance is partly due to the reduced weight. The equipment of the 911 Carrera T is consistently designed for sportiness and lightweight construction: the rear window and the rear side windows are made of lightweight glass, and the door panels have opening loops. The insulation is reduced to the maximum. The optional rear seat system is omitted. The result: The two-seater has an empty weight of 1,425 kilograms with a power-to-weight ratio of 3.85 kg/hp.
