With the Porsche 964 Carrera 2 Cup, everything that causes unnecessary weight was initially removed. The rear emergency seats and the front passenger seat were removed and the entire insulating material was dispensed with. In order to increase vehicle stability and safety, a roll cage and a front strut brace were installed. The 3.6 liter 6-cylinder engine with dual ignition known from the Porsche 964 Carrera delivered 265 hp in the Cup version due to modified ignition electronics and a modified exhaust. Furthermore, the racing car got a new chassis with shorter and harder springs, as well as adjustable anti-roll bars. Negative camber has been increased to allow for higher cornering speeds.
Despite this equipment trimmed for racing use, the vehicle has a German street legal and can be used on public roads without further ado.
