Launched in 2005, the 997 represented a significant overhaul of the Porsche 911 range. Utilizing much of its predecessor’s underlying platform, the 997 was distinguished via more traditional aesthetics including upright, oval headlights and a richer, quieter cabin. Drivers desiring more performance could step up to a Carrera S, featuring a more powerful 3.8-liter engine, “Big Red” brakes, and PASM electronic damping control.
This 2008 Porsche 997 Carrera S is finished in paint-to-sample RS Green over a black full-leather interior with green stitching and rear center console, instrument surround, and air vents also painted RS Green. The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity lists a plethora of options including navigation, heated seats, Bose sound package, adaptive sport seats, self-dimming mirrors, and the uncommon Aerokit that adds visual drama. This car was later enhanced with the Champion Motorsport F77 Power Package that featured performance modifications such as a carbon fiber air box, carbon fiber plenum, Tubi Style exhaust manifolds and mufflers, as well as GIAC software. Other supplements include 19″ Champion Motorsport RG5 wheels, öhlins coil-over suspension system, and paint-protection film applied to the majority of this car’s painted surfaces.
Almost certainly an unrepeatable one-of-one example, there is little doubt as to why Rudy Mancinas chose to include this unique 997 Carrera S within his collection. Possessing more road presence than most others, this tastefully modified example is ready to continue to perform for its next owner.
