Based on a Porsche 930 Turbo from 1979 (chassis 93A0070168), the car was completely transformed in June 1992 into a RUF BTR 3.4L (chassis ZNS1110) by the RUF importer in Switzerland with supporting invoice. Since 1981, RUF is officially approved as a manufacturer by the German Mining Service. The modifications made by RUF at the time were therefore immense! This car has been equipped with a 5-speed RUF mechanical gearbox n°930-5-2-163 and RUF flat 6-cylinder engine n°*6700185*E/BTR34117 type 930/60 developing 360 horsepower (power measured during a recent dyno test). This promises exceptional performance.
Once in the cockpit, we understand in a fraction of seconds that the RUF BTR is no longer a Porsche 930 Turbo. The modifications include, among other things, the change of the on-board instrumentation and the steering wheel, the 964 Carrera RS bucket seats with harness, the impressive roll bar, the front stabilizer bar, but also on the outside a reworked exhaust system with 4 pipes, a redesigned front shield and the sublime RUF Speedline 17″ rims, as well as a braking system taken from the legendary RUF CTR. With super-inflated power, numerous improved mechanical parts and reduced weight, this car is formidable!
