EXTERIOR
Finished in a glossy coat of the more unusual L6B4 Seal Grey this Carrera GT looks simply sensational. The carbon fibre weave which makes up much of this engineering masterpiece remains largely visible across its sleek body. The design seems to get better with age and doesn’t seem to have dated one bit since its introduction over 20 years ago.
PPF has been applied to the front bumper, bonnet, front arches, lower doors and under the rear spoiler leaving the paintwork underneath in superb condition. Completely accident free it presents as a mollycoddled garage queen and has been praised by OPC Reading as one of the best UK cars available and one they’ve known from new.
INTERIOR
Perfectly complementing the cars stunning Grey paintwork the cabin of the Carrera GT is upholstered in a beautiful Ascot brown leather, with black hide and contrast stitching detail to the seats and sports steering wheel. Opening the doors reveals the exposed carbon fibre of the monocoque and inner doors, leading to the stunning aluminium pedals, switchgear and fascias which create a very premium feel to this stripped back supercar.
Full carbon fibre bucket seats offer a superb balance of comfort and weight saving, with their contoured shape offering superb hold and cushioning.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Opening the rear engine compartment reveals a visual treat; the V10 sat pride of place, cocooned in the carbon fibre monocoque chassis with pushrod actuated suspension and air intake scoops making up this engineering masterpiece. The engine bay is incredibly clean and the mid-mounted normally-aspirated all-alloy V-10 engine on this example is immaculate, fitted with double overhead camshafts, variable valve timing, titanium connecting rods and a dry-sump oil system ensuring reliable and consistent oil supply and pressure.
Twinned with a traditional 6-speed manual gearbox with racing-type three-plate carbon clutch it is a potent and very mechanical combination and experience, allowing jaw-dropping acceleration and a top track speed of over 200 mph.
The car has been looked after by Porsche Group Operations at Reading since new and has recently returned from a fresh service with an all clear. Clutch measurements are 29.86mm translating to over 65% remaining.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Yellow monoblock calipers can be clearly seen through the Carrera GT’s five-spoke forged light alloy wheels, 19 inch at the front and 20 inch at the rear, with all wheels remaining spotless. Sitting in the centre of the wheels sit the anodised hub nuts, blue on the right, red on the left side distinguishing thread direction.
The being Porsche’s Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) system providing astonishing stopping power.
