987 Porsche Boxster Spyder – 81st Geneva Motor Show Car
Porsche announced in 2023 that the 987 Boxster is now regarded as a Classic Porsche Model. This 987 Spyder is the car which was shown at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show and Porsche AG have confirmed in writing this car was indeed the 987 Spyder displayed at the 81st Geneva Motor Show.
It was bought by its current owner from a private collection in Guernsey May 2023. The car is currently registered in the UK.
This car is a Paint to Sample colour in Meteor Grey (in the Porsche build sheet the finish is shown as, show finish). It is the only Porsche 987 Spyder in the world produced in this colour from the Stuttgart factory. There are also a number of additional subtle optional extra’s which are unique to this show car.
Until it’s present owner the car has been in a private collection, firstly kept in Switzerland then more recently in Guernsey. The car has covered approximately only 6900 miles from new and in order for it to receive its first UK registration from the DVLA has been recently converted to a UK road specification (e.g: UK specification replacement front and rear lights). Conversion works have been carried out by Reason Porsche in Suffolk. All the original lights and parts etc have been retained for this to return to the original European road specification. The car is a manual and is left hand drive.
The Michelin Tyres have also been recently replaced to the original build sheet specification by Porsche in Colchester.
Such a unique example of a 987 Spyder from a private collection commands a premium. The current owner uses this as a concourse show car and it is kept in an insulated heated and dehumidified garage.
