The 997.2 generation was the watercooled Porsche, perfected. It was the final generation of Porsche made with the Mezger powerplant. It signified an important time for Porsche by introducing one of the greatest transmissions of all time; PDK. It also was the last 911 to be made with hydraulic steering, making it a truly connected, driver-focused, sports car that could be enjoyed in all capabilities.
Used as the transition between generations, Speedsters were the final silhouettes of their respective 911 generations with limited productions and updated lines remnant of the iconic 356 Speedsters from Porsche’s past. Meant to be the ultimate, open-top sports car, the 911 Speedster has a sleeker roof-less design with a revised windshield that is 60 millimeters lower and double-humped roof storage, its design is timeless. To pay respects to the iconic 356, the 997 generation Speedster was limited to only 356 units worldwide, making it the rarest Speedster.
