I am pleased to present this stunning 2005 Porsche 911 (996) Turbo S with just over 36,000 miles. This exquisite beauty has been well-maintained to the highest standard. The body and paint, interior, and engine are all original, with no modifications, and it has never been tracked. All maintenance has been completed as recommended (records available upon inquiry). The entire car has been wrapped in Xpel Ultimate Paint Protection Film and it has been treated with a ceramic coating. Although currently shown with the owner-installed turbo twist wheels, the car will be sold and delivered wearing the factory-optioned GT3 wheels (as per build sheet – included with documents), a 2005 Turbo S one year only popular spec for many of these vehicles. Photos of the wheels are included in the listing.
To celebrate the end of the 996 series, in 2005 Porsche produced a limited number of Turbo S variants (only 598 coupes and 960 convertibles) that came standard with the X50 package, PCCB (Porsche Carbon Ceramic Brakes), a 6-disc cd changer, and classy aluminum gauges. The X50 package boosted horsepower to 450 with 457lb-ft of torque, up from 420hp in the base Turbo, and 444hp in the previous year X50 package. Most of the cars currently available are cabriolets (some coupes) with the Tiptronic (automatic) transmission, making this a rare opportunity to own one of fewer than 200 TOTAL manual coupes produced. Of the manual coupes only 51 were produced for the N. American market, even fewer in black/black.
Owning this car will be akin to owning a rare gem. The 996 series marks a new era in Porsche’s history, being the first water-cooled motor, mated to a body that was only slightly larger but with a chassis that was stiffer and still 180lbs lighter than the previous generation 993 thanks to the abundant use of high-strength steel.
This vehicle was sold new in November 2004. The first owner enjoyed the majority of the miles (30k) for 11 years. In 2015, a PPI was conducted for the second owner (a local collector) by a shop in Virginia who gave it an excellent rating and performed a series of maintenance, including the 30k mile service, brake fluid flush, front and rear differential service, and full oil change. They also produced a DME report (1 of 2) which showed ZERO faults or over revs.
The second owner kept the car for 5 ½ years. Regular maintenance was performed at Porsche St. Louis, reflected in the clean Carfax. The third buyer (also an avid Porsche enthusiast) simply conducted a safety inspection at Porsche Naples prior to purchasing it, which the car passed with no concerns noted.
The third owner paid for a major service, including flushing all fluids, replacing spark plugs and coil packs, and had the car detailed and ceramic coated etc. but then sold the car to a dealer after a only a few months due to some personal issues, who in turn sold it to the current owner.
The current owner (also a Porsche collector with a few series TurboS in his stable), is downsizing and has chosen not to put miles on it. He only buys the best examples and had his Porsche specialist conduct a full post-purchase detailed mechanical inspection which confirmed the car was in top shape and needed nothing. To date the current owner has conducted a fluid exchange as well as a new battery. Don’t miss the opportunity to own this incredible collector!
