The 996-generation 911 Turbo has truly come into its own as a bonafide sports car with exceptional desirability in the market. Today, most understand that Turbo followed by an “S” is the ultimate expression of all-wheel-drive turbocharged Porsche power, and as the fourth generation Turbo S emerges from the shadows of its 964 and 993 forbears, it has gained quite the dedicated following of its own. With 444-horsepower and 457 lb-ft of torque – respectively 29 and 42 more than the standard Turbo – it’s easy to see why.
The extra power quickens the run from zero to 60 mph to 4.3 seconds and increases the top track speed to 191 mph. More than a power boost, 996-generation Turbo S models included carbon ceramic brakes (PCCB), an aluminum hard top, 18-inch Turbo wheels painted in GT Silver Metallic, and BOSE audio with an increased sticker price of $141,200 to keep pace with those additional extras.
Finished in Basalt Black Metallic this “Triple Black” specification Turbo S additionally features a full, supple black leather interior and a matching black Convertible soft top. A host of subtle options feature in the interior including heated front seats with lumbar support, black floor mats with Porsche script, and an aluminum and leather shifter and parking brake handle. With many exterior Turbo options standard on the Turbo S, the original owner simply opted for stainless steel exhaust pipes, a fine complement to the GT Silver Metallic wheels. Sold new at Porsche Tysons Corner in February 2005 for just over $145,000, this Turbo S Cabriolet remained with its first owner until 2022, a remarkable 17 years. Please note that while Carfax indicates a second owner starting in 2013, the finalization of a loan resulted in a change in title.
Along the way, service records and Carfax show a trail of maintenance and service work conducted from the original owner. Parting ways with this Turbo, its Carfax shows that Porsche Tysons Corner completed a maintenance inspection and an airbag system check before it was listed for sale 2022. In March of 2023 this Turbo S Cabriolet was on the west coast and received a 10,000 mile service at Porsche Monterey. Records on file indicate that in addition to the oil change and brake fluid flush service it received, four fresh Michelin Sport tires, new floor mats, and an emissions inspection as well. Freshly serviced by dealer-trained Porsche technicians and rightfully considered a Classic Model, this 911 Turbo S Cabriolet awaits its next long-term owner.
