The car’s current owner purchased the car more than 20 years ago and has taken very good care of it throughout his ownership. Finished in Black over black leather, this car was equipped from new with the coveted race style sport seats as well as a sunroof. In July of 2017, the car was the recipient of a thorough servicing by Porsche specialist Aldo Peruccon at Auto Carrera which consisted of a new clutch, new Bilstein rear dampers, full fluid service and an overhaul of the bushings, o-rings and gaskets. The car is maintained annually at the same shop to keep everything functioning well. Also in 2017, the car was treated to a full respray in its original black at which time the windshield was also replaced. The paint and body remain in excellent condition around the car and the car presents exceptionally well for a 25 year old car. At the time of cataloging, this car shows 86,868 km and includes a car cover, spare tire, tool kit, service book, warranty book, maintenance book, touring pass and two sets of keys.
When Porsche debuted their Turbo model for the 993 generation of 911, it was a car that set the tone for 911 Turbos to come and completely changed the sports car landscape forever. Based around a 400 horsepower twin-turbocharged flat-6, the 993 Turbo was capable of 0-60 mph in just over 4 seconds and a top speed of over 180 mph putting its performance on par with some of the rarest and most expensive vehicles of the day. This performance was easily available throughout the rev range, making the car an outstanding daily driver and was paired with the reliability Porsche has always been known for. A sign of things to come for the 911 Turbo, for the first time an advanced all wheel drive system was developed with the ability to shift the power between the front and rear axles depending on the amount of slip detected. Although the previous generation 964 Carrera was available with an all-wheel-drive setup, it was a rather rudimentary system and proved troublesome when more power was added whereas the 993 Turbo’s system was all but hidden unless it became needed. To differentiate the Turbo visually over the standard Carrera, it received widened rear fenders, a revised front bumper and a large tea-tray style rear spoiler which housed the air-to-air intercoolers. The 993 Turbo represents the pinnacle of air-cooled performance and still feels fast when put up against modern cars, while remaining reliable enough to use every day.
