“Driving one for the first time, like falling in love or having a child, fundamentally and permanently changes you. I discovered this a few months ago, just before my 45th birthday, when I test-drove a 1997 993. It’s cliché—Midlife crisis! Get a Porsche!—but I’d wanted one for a while. „Your first Porsche must be air-cooled,“ a friend, an expert on such things, told me. „Because. Air-cooled.“

WP0AC2993TS375771 was sold new on January 16, 1996 to Mr. Willard Sheppard through Premier Motorcars of Albuquerque, New Mexico finished in Polar Silver Metallic over Black Leather upholstery. In addition to the plethora of standard equipment found on the Turbo model, this car was optionally fitted with Porsche floor mats (black), Porsche crested rim caps, AM/FM radio with CD Player, self-dimming mirrors and rain sensor. A $108,994 sticker price and over $132,500 out the door, as verified by the 993’s original window sticker, all original purchase paperwork and correspondence. The car moved to Arizona with the owner in 2000 and eventually changed hands in April 2007 to its second caretaker in Mississippi, who retained ownership until 2019.
Now displaying just over 22,700 original miles, it appears this Turbo has been thoughtfully preserved and limitedly driven as its current condition reflects the consideration put forth over the years. All of its supple upholstery and paintwork remain factory original (see depth chart), and in very presentable condition. New stone guards have been applied the Turbo’s rear fenders (Summer 2019), while all identification stickers, decals, and plaques remain adhered to nearly every area of the vehicle.
The Turbo displays a stock appearance – down to all original glass and trim, CDR-210 radio, wheels and Pirelli P Zero Rosso tires (2016), The previous owner upgraded the turbos with Garrett turbos and added a GReddy boost controller. Additionally, the factory exhaust was adapted to the turbo mounting flanges and the catalytic converter was removed. The engine bay remains in factory configuration and has been nicely detailed. A late Spring 2019 inspection and scheduled service included an oil and filter change, air intake hose and valve cover gaskets. A handful of servicing records from the late 1990’s and early-to-mid 2000’s complements the large binder of documents.
Importantly, the 911 is complete with all original VIN-matched owner’s manuals, warranty-radio-key and roadside assistance cards, pamphlets, all key fobs, touchup paint tubes, tool roll, jack, spare, emergency accessories, unopened gloves and tire bag. Clean Carfax + AutoCheck reports consistently track with a clean history, ownership chain and mileage. Considered the ultimate evolution of the air-cooled 911, we offer this 933 Turbo for worldwide purchase and delivery from our Houston, Texas showroom.
