On the inside, this Carrera 4S is fitted with a black partial leather interior upgraded with predominantly OEM+ Porsche parts. A pair of sport seats from a 996 GT3 are fitted, featuring power adjustment and a great compromise between comfort and aggressive bolstering. One of the most disappointing parts of the 993 from the factory was the 4-spoke airbag steering wheel, which in this car has been replaced with a 3-spoke unit- once again out of a 996 GT3. A hardwired Passport radar detector and laser jammer have been installed with a covert display on the steering column. An upgraded stereo is fitted, featuring an Alpine head unit and a McIntosh amp in the trunk, powering upgraded speakers throughout the car. Ruf aluminum pedals look great in the footwell and provide a nice grippy surface for performance driving.
Powering the Carrera 4S is an air-cooled flat-6 that has received numerous updates to increase its performance. What started as a 3.6 liter has grown to 3.8 liters, thanks to a new piston and cylinder set. This is paired with cams out of the Europe-only 993 Carrera RS, which provide more peak power and help the engine breathe better, especially when paired with a performance intake and throttle body. A lightweight clutch kit helps the car rev up quickly, and 100-cell catalytic converters open up the exhaust and make this car sound fantastic. This combination of parts makes this 993 closer to a wide-body, all-wheel-drive Carrera RS than a standard Carrera 4S.
This beautiful 993 Carrera 4S is the perfect car for the 911 owner who loves to drive. Thanks to its numerous performance modifications, this car will be truly thrilling behind the wheel while looking great in your garage.
Porsche has become synonymous with its diverse array of 911 variants, however, this wasn’t always the case. The introduction of the 993 generation witnessed the incorporation of two significant new models, the Carrera S and Carrera 4S, both have since cemented their place as integral pieces of the 911 lineup. Based on the body shell of the 993 Turbo, these new models were fitted with widened rear fenders, an updated front bumper, and Turbo brakes while deriving power from the naturally aspirated flat-6 engine from the standard Carrera. With production spanning just two years between 1996 and 1998, the Carrera 4S is one of the rarer and more sought-after variants of the 993.
