The exterior of the car presents beautifully with the “Big Red” Turbo brake calipers poking out from behind the Turbo Twist wheels, which is paired with a body largely free of flaws. An optional rear wiper gives the car added all-weather practicality which is a welcome feature when utilizing the all-wheel-drive system in adverse conditions. The interior looks as immaculate as the exterior of the car, finished in black with optional supple leather seats, very little wear is noted throughout the cabin. Both front seats have been optioned with full power adjustment and the upgraded Hi-Fi system with both cassette and 6-CD changer was installed at the factory. Finding a 993 Carrera 4S with so few miles is difficult and finding one that has been under the care of a single, loving owner is even harder. Included with the sale of this car are the factory tools, books, and a full-service history with invoices totaling over €67,000 from throughout the car’s life.
Although these days Porsche is known for offering dozens of variants of the 911, it was not always that way. During the production of the 993 generation, two new models were added to the brand’s lineup- both of which have become mainstays for the 911. These new models were the Carrera S and Carrera 4S. Based on the body shell from the 993 Turbo, the new cars featured widened rear fenders, an updated front bumper, and Turbo brakes, but were powered by the naturally aspirated flat-6 from the standard Carrera. The S and 4S also received the coveted Turbo-Twist wheels and a lowered suspension- all of these features combined to make what has become known as one of the greatest rear ¾ designs on any 911. The Carrera 4S went on sale in 1996 and featured Porsche’s brand-new all-wheel-drive system that debuted in the 993 Carrera 4. Utilizing a viscous coupling unit in place of the center differential, the 4S all-wheel-drive was lighter than that found in the 964 and offered improved driving characteristics on both wet and dry tarmac over the predecessor. With the Carrera 4S only being produced between 1996 and 1998, it is one of the rarer variants of the 993 and has become quite collectible in recent years.
