Porsche 911 (992) Carrera S PDK in Gentian Blue Metallic

The tastiest dressed-up Porsche 992 Carrera S we’ve seen to date? We dare him to! Both the color scheme and the options are exciting of this Gentian Blue painted Elfer with RS Spyder design wheels. Thanks to the sports exhaust, the boxer roar comes into its own when all 450 horses eat up the ridiculously wide rubber at the rear. In terms of handling, the 911 Carrera S of the latest generation knows no mercy either: the PASM sports suspension makes the Porsche stick to the asphalt as if its honeymoon had arrived, while the Sport Chrono clock keeps track of the (fast) times in case of a side trip to, for example, the racetrack. Things get extra hot on board with the sport seats‘ heater turned on. Or let the spring sun burn unfiltered on your head and leather package with the sliding/tilting roof open. Whatever the plan, this bright blue gem from Germany is ready for it.

Design
Hyper-modern LED headlights peer out into the world as ever: from round light units that have gradually taken on a teardrop shape. Of course, a little change in 60 years of Porsche 911 fun is not forbidden. The Coupe version is the absolute cradle of the iconic model and manages to convince as a 992 Carrera S as well. However, the shapes have become tighter than ever: note especially the wide openings in the front bumper and narrow LED taillights – including the characteristic red connecting strip, just like before. Tighter or not, the curves in the fenders have been clipped further than far, making the body wider than wide. Tire size was not skimped on either: our specimen is actually on 20/21-inch (front/rear) large RS Spyder design wheels. The gray finish of these rims seamlessly matches the housing of the headlights and the glass of the taillights. Otherwise, the Porsche 911 Carrera S Coupe is mostly very blue. Gentian blue. The metallic paint splashes off and gives the sports car an even more powerful look. Delightful, what a machine!

Equipment
The black trim strips on the exterior of the Elfer correspond to the black color of the power sports seats that can also be heated. The dashboard and door trim also have a similar black finish and are part of the leather package. Light contrast stitching and sill strips of brushed aluminum aptly break up the all-black cockpit. The steering wheel is multifunctional in design and controls the hands-free telephone preparation, among other things. It makes it easy to call home to tell them that you have not played out (by a long shot). Do you crave a little coolness after sharpening the lap time displayed by the Sport Chrono clock? Slide back the sunshade for the glass electrically and open the sliding/tilting roof at the push of a button. Front + rear parking sensors are especially supportive when the adrenaline rush is still too great to think clearly when you enter the garage or pit box. Whoever is ready to be launched again would be wise to already lean against the famous Porsche weapon in the headrests; after all, coming into contact with it is only a matter of time. Afterwards, you will never have to look in the automatic dimming interior and exterior mirrors, because no fellow road user is going to keep up with you. Not even when the asphalt gets twisty….

Technology
While roaring, the 450-hp 6-cylinder boxer engine downshifts one or more gears of its 8-speed PDK automatic transmission, only to attack corners as if they were the Porsche 992 Carrera S’s only competitor. In fact, they are. The Porsche Active Suspension Management system (PASM) provides stability and sportiness, but equally has a comfortable side suitable for long(er) distances. Accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h, the 911 pulls off no more than 3.7 seconds. Even the all-wheel drive (and 50 kg heavier) Carrera 4S is too fast. In terms of top speed, the latter also lags behind our Porsche: only at 308 km/h does the sports coupe hit a wall called air resistance. By making turbo technology available to all non-Turbo models, the 992’s 3.0-liter capacity is enough to put a whopping 530 Newton meters of torque on the road. If there is one method of getting the typical boxer sound, it is with the help of a sports exhaust. And so it happened. Who is coming soon to listen to awesome Porsche violence?
