No design is as iconic as that of the Porsche 911. Time and time again, the brand manages to breathe new life into their legend with a signature that can be recognized from miles away as a real Elfer. At the same time, no car has evolved as much as this Porsche. The body of the 992 is so much grander and wider than that of its predecessors. The huge air slots, LED headlights and ditto rear light units even look a bit futuristic. But of course there is no abandoning the 911 belief: the slippery curves, sturdy wheel arches and characteristic sloping roofline – yes, that also applies to the Cabriolet – make this 992 Carrera S unmistakably a Porsche as a Porsche should be. Minimalist designed double 5-spoke Carrera Classic wheels also contribute to this, although the size cannot be compared to the past: 20 inches front, 21 inches rear. The red calipers behind it hold onlookers in their grip and bite just as convincingly into the perforated brake discs.
Details such as the dark headlight housings, wide cooling openings in the front bumper and of course the black soft-top subtly contrast with the Aventurine Green metallic paintwork. But striking enough to make this item a unique eye-catcher. If there is one green Porsche that the enthusiast can appreciate with style, then it is this one! Interior
As tasteful as the color scheme on the outside is, the original owner has carefully selected the materials on the inside: the Sports seats Plus, rear seat, knee cushions and center armrest are finished in black leather. The finish of the dashboard and door panels deserves extra attention: they too are entirely covered with a particularly beautiful type of leather and equipped with contrasting stitching in a light chalk colour. The cluster containing a row of instruments is still reminiscent of that of the primal Elfer. However, the digital layout tells us that this Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet comes from another era. The large screen of the infotainment system, the high-gloss black interior trim and the operation of the automatic PDK transmission also reveal how modern this iconic sports car is.
Options & extras
In any case, it is unthinkable that the surroundings of this Porsche become dark after sunset. The LED headlights are round in shape, but razor sharp when it comes to light output. Furthermore, the Sport Plus seats are electrically adjustable and heated. The latter also applies to the black leather steering wheel, on which the Cruise Control can also be operated. Things like Park Assist including Surround View Camera, Porsche Communication Management (PCM) and Apple CarPlay are completely up to date. However, it is options such as Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) that really warm up the enthusiast of speed. And of course that includes a suitable sound: that sports exhaust is an absolute must (hear)!
Technique & performance
The classic crackling and rumbling of the traditional 6-cylinder boxer engine apparently goes very well with ultramodern turbo technology. If the original 911 Turbo is only blown, this 3.0 liter Carrera S is supplied with extra air twice – and therefore power! This brings the total to 450 hp, guaranteeing an explosive 0-100 km / h sprint: after 3.9 seconds it is already over! In 8th PDK gear, a top speed of 306 km/h is easily within reach. However, the speed at which the automatic transmission changes gears and the amount of grip that the rear-wheel-drive Porsche 992 shows are more impressive than all the numbers added together. Apart from the combination ‚911‘ then…
Sincerely,
Prince Esclusivo.
