PORSCHE 944 S2 CABRIO for sale!
After three decades of producing rear-engined air-cooled cars, Porsche began experimenting with more mainstream configurations in the late 1970s. The Stuttgart company released a line of water-cooled, front-engined cars (transaxles), first with the 924 in 1976, then with the 928 in 1978. The Porsche 944 appeared in 1982 with a more performance-oriented take on what the 924 initiated. Although the body of the 944 was based on the 924, it had significantly more striking contours. In model year 1989, the S2 model replaced the 944 S. In addition to the more muscular body, the S2 also received a 3.0-liter 4-valve engine that generated 211 hp. This brought the performance level almost to that of the 944 Turbo.
The 944 S2 was also available in a Cabriolet version from the start.
