The 924, available from model year 1976, was developed by Porsche on behalf of Volkswagen as the successor to the 914 and finally produced in-house. The new entry-level model was built by Audi in Neckarsulm, Germany. The design of the 924’s body focused on good aerodynamics. The flat bonnet and the folding headlights were particularly important. From MY 1983, a black rear spoiler further improved the Cd value.
It was not until the 924 S, produced from model year 1986 onwards, that an engine built by Porsche itself was fitted: the 2.5-litre in-line four-cylinder of the 944.
The Porsche 924 S available from Modelyear 1986 was a clear technical upgrade of the 924 series. Many components of this model came from the 944, including the engine, the brake system, chassis components and parts of the interior. The standard aluminium wheels in “telephone” design also brought the 924 S close to the 944.
The 2.5 litre engine of the 924 S was identical to that of the 944 and initially produced 150 hp, from MY 1988 160 hp.
This Porsche 924 S Targa with the 2,5l /150 hp engine was first delivered to Germany and still has its original German Papers.
It was used rarely and has just a mileage of 46561 km. It is 100% original, unrestored and is still wearing its first paint.
Of course it is still powered by its original power plant and completely matching numbers.
It has the stunning colour combination of Diamantsteingrau and Nadelstreifvelours.
The complete history can be seen in the complete Service booklet. The Targa roof is removable and has the often lost original Targa Roof Bag. Also the original Toolset is still there. With demand and prices rising for the Porsche 924 S, this is your opportunity for an absolute collector’s item.
