The 911 F-Series, the first generation of the most legendary sports car, appeared in 1964. It is the purest incarnation of the 911: a minimalist size, an elegant and harmonious profile, with a modest but sufficient displacement of 2.2 litres cooled by air, a manual gearbox with 4 speeds, the recipe for happiness. As nowadays, different versions were developed: S, RS… Our 911 T, produced in 9061 units from 1970 in its 2.2 litre version.
Put on the road on August 17, 1970 and without accident, the car was marketed by the famous distributor SONAUTO, the plate riveted under the engine bonnet attests to its French origin. It has 62,000 kilometers and the matching engine and chassis numbers make it a „matching numbers“ example. Engine and carburettors rebuilt. A part of the history is available. Technical checks, Histovec and CarVertical reports are favourable and also available. Duplicate keys present.
ENGINE AND GEARBOX
The flat 6 with a displacement more than enough for such a light 2.2 litre body develops 125 horsepower, 15 more than the 2 litre version. The engine starts without any problems or suspicious oil leaks or fumes. The characteristic sound of the flat 6 resonates through the newly replaced mufflers. During the drive, the acceleration thrust is straightforward and without any dip in power, and is well calibrated thanks to a 4-speed manual gearbox (a 5-speed gearbox was offered as an option). A rebuild of the engine and carburettors is currently being finalised at a cost of over 13,000 Euros, details on request.
EXTERIOR
From the outside, it’s impossible to tell the 911 T from a 911 S except by its badges. There are no ostentatious aerodynamic appendages to detract from the line, which is enhanced by its original but completely reworked „zitronengelb“ colour scheme. The compulsory process of hammering, replacement of the joints and dismantling of all the body panels has been respected (restoration photos in support) and gives this paintwork a magnificent result; its shine and the paint thickness readings are very good, no rust is to be deplored, as the rocker panels were treated during the painting. The traditional Fuchs 5-spoke wheels are in very good condition.
INTERIOR
The black interior is in a very good state of preservation and has a very good finish. The standard comfort seats are very supportive and have no cracks, holes or scratches. The relatively spacious rear seat is also free of wear and tear. The driving position is optimal, the gearstick lever is within easy reach with the large-radius steering wheel. The clear, perforated roof lining is in perfect condition. The plastics of the dashboard and its console are undamaged and free of cracks. The black-backed instrument panel with the Porsche layout is in perfect working order and shows very good visibility. The carpets are of the same standard as the rest of the interior, i.e. in very good condition. The ventilation is working.
CONSUMABLES
The tyres currently fitted are Firestone TZ300a 195/65 R15 late 2009 in good condition with some wear at the front and rear. The brakes show no signs of advanced wear.
