The car presented is a rare Porsche 911 T, completely restored with care, perfect in every detail, in its beautiful original color with blue Bali exterior, and beige interior. This unit in particular it’s one of the first units of the model year ’68, it means that it has Weber carburetors, the aluminum engine carter and some of other things like the headlights and little differences in the interiors.
The Porsche 911 T 2.0 of the 60s was born as a sweetened version of the Porsche 911, it had a 2.0-liter engine with 110 hp and this choice was made thinking of the car as one of more everyday use.
The new car presented by the Stuttgart company passed from a 4-cylinder 1,600cc of the 356 with 60 hp to a six-cylinder 2,000cc boxer, guaranteeing more power, torque and linearity of delivery.
Porsche developed the T, which indicates the „Touring“ version, as amore usable version, since the company decided to soften the engine bringing it to 110 hp this allowed to have a car that was easier to drive, less expensive in maintenance, and as the engine was less extreme it reduced the consumption, all this meant less expenses for daily use.
This first 2.0 version, even if it is less acclaimed than its sisters 2.2 and 2.4, is rarer, with half examples built as the 2.4 version. The 911 left the stage in ’75 being replaced by the 930 with about 12,000 units built.
In conclusion, the 911 T series is the Porsche for excellence, not in terms of performance, but historically speaking, the Stuttgart company began its rapid climb to success as we know it today thanks to the 911, the first in ’64, in its version T, S, L and Targa.
