Only 56 examples of the 2.4S model were supplied new to the UK market in 1973, of which only four were finished in silver. This superb example retains its factory specification in all other respects as well with matching numbers and many desirable options including electric windows and sunroof, Recaro Sports Seats, tinted glass and correct Blaupunkt radio.
The car has a great history from new, it has been owned by a number of noted Porsche collectors over the years and has featured in a number of magazine articles on the model. We first bought the car in 2007 shortly after the completion of a no expense spared restoration to the highest standards, the body was entrusted to Sportwagen, the mechanicals were fully rebuilt by Neil Bainbridge and Southbound did the interior, all Porsche specialists then at the top of their game. The two substantial history files document the fastidious nature and detail of the work completed.
We have sold the car to each subsequent owner and have always been delighted to have been given the opportunity to re-purchase it on each occasion. The excellent order of the car today eighteen years after the restoration is testament to the high standard of the restoration and to the careful use and diligent maintenance shown by each owner. It has only ever been worked on by the most respected of Porsche specialists as detailed in the history files.
We recently repurchased the Porsche from a dedicated Porsche enthusiast who bought it from us in 2014. He replaced it with a 2.7RS but I know he is already missing this super 2.4S. A recent test drive reminded me of how good this car is, showing a tightness and fluency that only a well sorted example possesses.
A truly lovely right hand drive 2.4S with a great specification that wants for nothing.
