In 1966, Porsche introduced the first Porsche “ sport purpose“ with the Porsche 911S model year 1967. „S“ is for „Super“. The 1967 911S‘ output was raised to 160HP. The standard features included a set of unique one year only forged alloy Fuchs wheels (4.5 inch x 15 inch), two triple choke Weber IDS carburetors, adjustable Koni dampers, ventilated disc brakes, a stiffer front anti-roll bar and an additional anti-roll bar at the rear. The Road and Track Magazine called the 1967 911S an „Enduring triumph of engineering“. In its days, the 1967 911S was the racers‘ choice. Today it is an icon. Indeed, the 1967 911S is a very sought after early Porsche 911. It is a must have in any serious Porsche collection.
According to the Porsche issued Certificate of Authenticity (COA) , the 1967 911S offered here was completed on May 2nd, 1967 and sent to Porsche of America in Teaneck, New Jersey, USA.
The car was finished in Irish green (color code 6606), with interior seats in black leather (an upgrade) with Pepita insert together with „pillow“ 356 style headrests. As per COA, the car came from factory with a Webasto heater, electric sunroof (a very rare option), tinted glass all around, a loudspeaker, a Becker Europa radio, radio antenna and Dunlop tires.
The car just completed a multi-year frame off restoration at no expense was spared. It is offered with an original owner’s manual, a tool kit, jack, spare tire with a matching Fuchs wheel, and an original Porsche issued Certificated Of Authenticity confirming all matching numbers.
It is a rare opportunity to acquire a rare, freshly restored 1967 Porsche 911S with a factory installed sunroof.
