The body was finished in Espresso Brown Metallic (L40D) from the factory, and was partially repainted under previous ownership. Features include gold Carrera-script rocker stripes, a front lip spoiler, and a ducktail engine cover. The selling dealer commissioned paint correction prior to application of clear XPEL film over the front end.
Gold Fuchs wheels with polished lips are said to measure 16″x7″ and 16″x9″ as found on contemporary 930 cars, and wear Hankook Ventus V2 Concept 2 tires at all four corners.
An interior color change from Linen to tan was carried out under current ownership and included installation of reproduction sport seats from GTS Classics. Coco mats protect tan carpets, and a 917-style shift knob and boot have been fitted. The selling dealer notes that air conditioning equipment remains fitted, though a compressor is not currently installed.
A leather-wrapped Momo Prototipo steering wheel sits in front of a brown dash housing VDO instruments as well as a Becker CD player. The six-digit odometer shows 150k miles, 3k of which have been driven under current ownership. Actual mileage is unknown. Aftermarket auxiliary gauges are mounted to the top of the center console.
The replacement M64 flat-six was sourced from a later 964 and is said to have been rebuilt with oversized Mahle pistons and cylinders, increasing displacement to 3.8 liters. Other modifications reportedly include 993 twin-spark cylinder heads with GE60-profile Jerry Woods camshafts, aftermarket valve springs and hardware, dual twin-choke PMO 50mm carburetors, and MSD ignition modules. Ceramic-coated European Racing headers direct exhaust through a stainless steel Monty muffler.
Shifting is through the stock five-speed Getrag G50 transaxle and a lightweight flywheel has been added.
Engine work and other service are documented in service receipts shown in the gallery below. Approximately 10k miles have been driven since the engine swap according to the selling dealer, who has reportedly performed a valve adjustment and oil change as well as installation of 12 new spark plugs.
The May 2020 Carfax report indicates an accident-free history under owners in Alabama and Florida, and notes that a “not actual mileage” title was issued in Alabama in September 2019.
