This gorgeous 2.8RSR was built for an avid collector of rare road and race aircooled Porsches without regard to cost. The donor for the project was a 1972 911 ‘E’ Coupe and built from there. The build was a total ground up restoration with every single item restored or replaced new. The engine is a masterpiece proving very tractable at low revs whilst being very free revving in the higher echelons of the RPM, but the noise it makes is just something else. Induction noise and the burble it makes gargling super unleaded is worth the price alone. The history file covering the build is exceptional with notes from the FIA on what the original 2.8RSRs were built from and a raft of images whilst the car was being put together. This is a stunning example of how great aircooled Porsches are, to build this car again would be very difficult due to availability of these parts not to mention the costs involved.
